Shrimp and Grits

This delectable Shrimp and Grits recipe will leave you licking your plate and longing for more. The shrimp are cooked with bacon, onions, garlic, and peppers in a deliciously flavorful sauce and spooned over a bed of creamy cheesy grits. This dish comes together quite quickly and will become a favorite meal for you family and friends.
Shrimp and Grits
Ingredients
For the cheesy grits
1 cup quick cooking grits
3 cups chicken broth
1 cup half and half
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded pepperjack cheese salt and pepper to taste
For the shrimp
12 oz. or
1 pound of raw shrimp (frozen or fresh and peeled and deveined)
3 slices of bacon crumbled
1/4 cup chopped bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped red onion
1/4 cup chopped green onion
2 garlic cloves minced
half of lemon juiced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup white wine (optional)!
1 tsp cajun seasoning
Instructions For cheesy grits In a medium size sauce pot bring broth and half & half to a simmer and then add the grits. Once they begin to thicken slowly add the cheeses, butter, salt and pepper to taste. For the shrimp Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon and add onions, peppers, and garlic and cook until tender. Add broth, white wine, lemon juice, and seasoning and cook for a couple of minutes before adding the shrimp. The shrimp will turn pick when cooked through. Serve the shrimp over the grits and enjoy!
