About Thyme to Cook

Hello, my name is Kristi and my cooking journey began after I got married and had children. I was a stay at home mom of two children and provided meals for my family every day, which sparked my love of trying new foods. As my confidence grew so did my repertoire of recipes, and I began to cook for church events, various parties, and large family gatherings. So, in July of 2012, I decided to follow my passion and I began culinary school. While in school, I worked in a full service kitchen at the Embassy Suites in Charleston, WV. I believe God blessed my efforts and I excelled in school, won competitions, was in the honor society, and even received "The Student Chef of the Year" award for the state of West Virginia. I earned my Sous Chef Certification with the American Culinary Federation in September of 2014, and I started my own catering company soon after. I have also been involved in food demonstrations and cooking classes in private homes. My passion is to inspire you to embrace the culinary experience by offering good quality meals that are simple, fresh, and affordable. And my goal is to help bring families back to the dinner table. My most recent endeavor is starting a YouTube channel, in which I share simple and delicious recipes each week. I do not know what will become of this new adventure but I am trusting God with each step. Thanks to each of you who have supported and encouraged me along the way.
