Quick Salisbury Steak
Ingredients:
2 lbs of ground beef
1 package of Onion Soup Mix
1/2 cup dried bread crumbs (you can also use quick oats)
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ground thyme
1 tsp salt & pepper
For gravy:
3 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
1/2 onion cut julienne
1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms (optional)
3 cups of beef broth (for thicker gravy reduce broth to 2 or 2 1/2 cups)
2 tbsp worchestershire
Instructions:
Mix ground beef, seasonings, bread crumbs, milk, egg, and half of onion soup mix, until everything is well combined. Form meat mixture into patties, and fry in a hot skillet with some olive oil for a couple minutes on each side. Remove patties and melt butter in skillet, then add onion and mushrooms and saute until softened. After a couple minutes add the flour and let cook for a minute or so before adding the beef broth, worcestershire sauce, and other half of onion soup mix. Stir until well combined, then return the patties into the liquid and cover the skillet and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. Can be served with mashed potatoes or egg noodles. 7. Eat and Enjoy!
