Focaccia bread can be part of a meal, an appetizer, a soup dipper, a sauce soaker-upper, and even the crust of a sandwich or panini. Regardless of how it's served, this garlic, and herb No Knead Focaccia Bread is chewy, and flavorful.
No Knead Focaccia Bread
Ingredients Dough:
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp quick active yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups warm water
Topping: salt 1 tsp dried or fresh rosemary 1 tsp dried or fresh oregano 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
In a large mixing bowl or kitchen aid bowl combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt, lightly stir. Add warm water and oil. Mix until a sticky dough forms. Cover and let rise for 1 hour in a warm place. Dump dough on a baking tray or jelly roll pan lined with parchment paper or generously greased. Drizzle dough with oil and begin pressing it out. Mix mince garlic into herbs and sprinkle over dough. Sprinkle with salt and add any oil that is left over. Press fingers deep into dough creating craters. Bake in a 375 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
