Mississippi Mud Pie

This is a dessert that has been in my family for generations and is an all time favorite. It is such a easy and basic dessert, layers of pudding and cream cheese on a delicious crust. This Mississippi Mud Pie is definitely the most requested dessert at our family dinners.
Mississippi Mud Pie
Ingredients
1 stick of butter, melted
1 cup flour
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 (8 oz.) package of cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
16 oz. cool whip
1 large box chocolate pudding
1 large box vanilla pudding
4 cups milk
Instructions
To make crust: combine flour, pecans, and melted butter. Pat into the bottom of a 9x13 baking dish and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool completely. Cream cheese filling: mix together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 cup of cool whip. Blend until smooth. Spread over cooled crust. Using two separate bowls, add 2 cups of milk to chocolate pudding and 2 cups of milk to vanilla pudding and stir until smooth and thick. Spread vanilla pudding over cream cheese and spread chocolate pudding over vanilla pudding. Spread the rest of the cool whip over the chocolate pudding. For added decoration you can sprinkle some chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips over the top.
