Honey Garlic Shrimp

This Honey Garlic Shrimp is one of my family's favorites because it is so delicious! It is gone in a matter of a few minutes. The marinade for the shrimp is quick, easy and full of flavor with a sweet and salty combination that will definitely please your palette. Serve with rice and vegetables, grill on skewers, or serve over a salad all for a healthy dinner option you will enjoy on a regular basis.

Honey Garlic Shrimp

Ingredients

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce (I use reduced sodium)

4 garlic cloves minced or 1 tbsp

1 pound of medium uncooked shrimp, peeled and deveined

Instructions

Whisk the honey, soy sauce, and garlic together and set aside. Place shrimp in a large zipped lock bag or container with lid and pour marinade over shrimp. Allow shrimp to marinade in the refrigerator for 15 minutes or for up to 8 to 12 hours. (Time saving tip: while the shrimp is marinating, I cook quick brown rice and steam broccoli or other vegetable) In a hot skillet over medium high heat place the shrimp. Cook shrimp on one side until pink about 1 minute then flip shrimp over and cook on other side. Make sure you leave space between shrimp to achieve good caramelization. Once all shrimp is cooked pour the remaining marinade in a small skillet and bring to a boil allowing liquid to reduce and thicken slightly. This creates a delicious glaze for the shrimp.
