Dutch Baby Pancake is delicious and surprisingly simple. This puffy pancake requires only 5 minutes of prep and perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert. Kids love to watch the pancake puff and it is easy enough for them to help mix the batter. Top with fresh berries or sliced bananas and drizzle with maple syrup.
Dutch Baby Pancake
Ingredients
1/2 cup all purpose flour
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 tbsp melted butter
1 tbsp sugar
pinch of salt
Instructions
Mix eggs and flour. Add sugar, salt, and half of melted butter. Then add the milk and stir until combined. Do not over mix, lumps are ok. Pour the other half of melted butter into a hot cast iron skillet. I use a 8 inch skillet. You can use a 8 or 9 inch pie plate or baking dish just make sure it is hot. Pour batter into skillet and bake in a 400 degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes until puffy and golden brown. The center should puff as well as the sides.
