Dutch Apple Pie

I love this Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel because of the sweet and crunchy topping. It is perfect for Thanksgiving and is delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There is just something so comforting about a warm piece of apple pie.

Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Ingredients

5 to 6 cups of peeled and sliced apples

2 tbsp lemon juice

2/3 cup sugar

2 tbsp flour

2 tbsp butter

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/8 tsp ground allspice

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

Oatmeal Streusel

3/4 cup flour

3/4 cup oats

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1 stick butter (1/2 cup butter)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Combine apples with lemon juice, sugar, flour, and spices, and stir making sure all apples are coated. Pour apple mixture into a unbaked pie crust. Cut butter into small cubes and place on top of apples. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes.
