Chipped Beef Gravy

Chipped Beef Gravy and Toast (S.O.S.) is a recipes originating in our nation's military. This popular dish was prepared a bit differently depending on which branch of the military is was being served. Some used the canned beef while others used ground beef and both were mixed in a creamy gravy served over toast. This dish is perfect for breakfast but is also a great dinner especially if you like breakfast for dinner like my family. There are only a few ingredients and it comes together quick!

Chipped Beef Gravy

1 (2.25 oz.) jar of dried beef

3 Tbsp butter

1/4 cup flour

3 cups milk

1 Tbsp worcestershire sauce

salt and pepper to taste

In a large skillet add butter and cook until melted. Add flour and cook until it has a light brown color. Add about half of the milk, whisking continuously. Then add the beef, worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Add the rest of milk a little at a time until thick creamy consistency.
