I have been so blessed with an absolutely wonderful dad! This Blackberry Cobbler is one of his favorites so I decided to make him one for Father's Day. We used to make this cobbler a lot while I was growing up and especially when the blackberries were in season. This recipe is so simple and uses equal parts of self-rising flour, sugar, and milk, so it can be adapted to the size you need. It is also excellent with peaches, blueberries, or raspberries. I sure hope you give it a try, I know you won't be disappointed.
Blackberry Cobbler
Ingredients
4 cups of fresh or frozen blackberries
1 1/2 cups of self-rising flour
1 1/2 cups of sugar (you can use a sugar substitute if desired)
1 1/2 cups of milk
1/2 stick of melted butter
Instructions
Rinse blackberries and pour them into a 9 x 13 baking dish. Mix together flour, sugar, and milk until well combined. Pour over the berries. Drizzle the melted butter over the batter. Bake at 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the center is completely cooked. Serve with vanilla ice cream! Enjoy!
