While these golden apple dumplings are baking in the oven, your entire house will smell like sweet apples and cinnamon! I love how easy and fast these delicious apple dumplings are to make and that they use simple ingredients like canned crescent rolls and soda pop. This is a fun recipe to make with kids, as you have them wrap a piece of apple with a crescent roll and pour the soda over the top being careful not to pour directly on top of the dumpling. Serve with ice cream and you have a home run of a dessert the whole family will love.

Apple Dumpling

Ingredients

2 large granny smith apples

2 cans crescent rolls

2 sticks unsalted butter

1 1/2 cups brown sugar

1 (12 oz.) can of sprite

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Peel and core the apples and cut each apple into 8 pieces. Wrap each piece of apple with a crescent roll triangle and then place in a greased 9 x 13 baking dish. Melt butter in a small sauce pot. Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla and cook until sugar has dissolved. Pour mixture over the dumplings. Then pour soda in between and around the dumplings but not directly over the dumplings. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven or until golden brown. Best served with ice cream.
