These Buttermilk Biscuits are sooo delicious and only made with 3 ingredients. There is nothing quite as comforting as buttery and fluffy biscuits. Warm biscuits with a pat of butter and jam or smothered with sausage gravy is a delightful way to start the day. And of course biscuits are good any time of day and with any good home cooked meal.
3 Ingredient Buttermilk Biscuits
2 1/2 cups self-rising flour
1 stick salted butter
1 to 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
Instructions
Add flour to a large mixing bowl. Grate butter that has been frozen, using a box grater. Toss the grated butter in the flour to distribute evenly. Place bowl of flour and butter mixture into the freezer for 10 minutes. Add buttermilk. Sometimes you will need a little less and sometimes a little more. The dough should be wet and sticky. Gently mix being careful not to over mix. Pour dough onto a floured surface and gently form together. Press dough out into a rectangle shape then fold in half. Repeat this pressing out and folding over 5 times. This will develop layers in the biscuits. Cut biscuits using a cutter or glass, pressing straight down. Do not twist when cutting the biscuits. Place the biscuits on a tray lined with parchment paper making sure they are almost touching. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
